Mercedes King-Jones
- Head of Division Based at Worcester, Mercedes King-Jones is a partner and head of mfg’s family division. With more than 17 years’ experience, She specialises in matrimonial financial cases. Areas of expertise: Mercedes has a reputation for offering both married and unmarried clients high quality tailored advice in complex financial cases, especially those involving family businesses, and pension assets. She has considerable experience in dealing with property disputes between cohabitees. She also works closely with the rural team, providing specialist advice to the farming community and has spoken at a number of seminars and training events on divorce in a farming context. Her approach offers technical expertise balanced with compassion, a sense of humour and a realistic approach to litigation. Membership of professional bodies and organisations: Mercedes has been a member of the Family Law Panel for many years. She is also a member of Resolution, and is a trained mediator. |

Gurdip Kaur-Brring - Private Practice Development Partner Gurdip Brring, a partner in the family division based at Worcester, is well known for handling complex, high quality private matrimonial work. Areas of expertise: Gurdip advises on all aspects of divorce and family matters with a niche expertise in complex matters involving family businesses, pensions and farming cases. She also has considerable experience in relation to pre-marital agreements and the protection of property on cohabitation. Claire Backler Claire is a highly regarded and very experienced partner in the mfg family finance team based at Kidderminster. Areas of expertise: Claire is able to provide specialist advice to a full range of mfg clients, covering topics such as divorce and separation, civil partnerships, prenuptial agreements, and financial negotiation upon separation. She specialises in complex financial cases and has a particular interest and considerable experience acting for niche professional groups including dentists. She also has a wealth of experience in dealing with farmers and landowners. Robert Pearce Robert Pearce is head of mfg’s family team in Shropshire. A partner at the firm, he has a wealth of experience in areas such as divorce, cohabitation and financial issues. Areas of expertise: Robert is a specialist in children cases involving both public and private law children matters. He is well known and respected for his work acting for parents in care proceedings. Alison Webber Alison Webber is head of the family team at mfg’s Bromsgrove office, bringing with her a wealth of experience in all areas of family law. Areas of expertise: Having practised as a family solicitor for more than 25 years, Alison specialises in divorce, separation and cohabite disputes, with particular expertise in all financial issues following divorce, including business assets, pensions and properties. Michelle Corbett Michelle Corbett has been with mfg Solicitors since November 2001 and is an associate working within the family law division, specialising in childcare. Rupinder Nandra Joining the firm in 2010, Rupinder Nandra is the latest addition to mfg’s family law division, further strengthening the children’s team at Kidderminster. Areas of expertise: Supporting the childcare team, Rupinder specialises in private law disputes involving children. She joined mfg from Brownings Solicitors in Redditch, where she did her training. Katherine Tippetts Katherine Tippetts further expands mfg’s family division, joining Robert Pearce at the Telford office of the firm in June 2010. Areas of expertise: Katherine deals with all areas of family law, including divorce, ancillary relief, cohabitation, pre-nuptial agreements and Children Act proceedings. She also works closely with mfg’s rural team, having a particular interest in farming cases and divorces involving agricultural and rural issues. Recent cases she has worked on include dealing with complex pension sharing issues and those involving high net worth clients. Katherine worked at a solicitor in Chester since qualifying in 2005 before relocating to her home county of Shropshire last year. Membership of professional bodies and organisations: Katherine is a collaborative lawyer and a member of Resolution, an association of family lawyers who promote a conciliatory approach to family law and subscribe to a code of practice. Interests: In her spare time, Katherine enjoys relaxing and socialising with friends, walking and cycling. |
