The Facts

Nobody wants to really think about a time when we are no longer here, but all too often dependants and relatives are left vulnerable and unprepared at a time of great difficulty because no will has been made.

We are experienced in drafting wills. Equally importantly, we are experienced in other areas of law which may have a direct bearing on how your will should be prepared, for example, we can suggest ways to minimise the amount of inheritance tax payable to the government.

We are experienced in advising clients about making wills in complex circumstances such as:

  • Those going through a separation or divorce
  • Those wishing to provide for disabled children or other disabled beneficiaries
  • Those who are in a second marriage, wishing to make provision for children of their first marriage
  • Those who feel they have no family or friends they wish to leave their estate to
  • Those requiring tax planning
  • Those who own property abroad
  • Those who own farms or businesses.

We will advise you how to make sure that the people you want to benefit from your estate will actually do so, and will explain the relevance of trusts for your children and grandchildren. We will advise on the appointment of appropriate executors who will be responsible for ensuring that your wishes are carried out. We are happy to act as executors if you so wish.

When your will has been signed, we offer a free storage facility to ensure the will’s safekeeping.
