Chris is an assistant solicitor within the employment team at mfg Solicitors, joining in October 2016 as part of the divisions continued growth.
Chris qualified as a solicitor in 2016 after spending three years with a specialist employment law firm in the South West. He completed his Law Degree at University of Winchester and then passed the Legal Practice Course and acquired a Master’s Degree at the University of Law in Bristol. He focussed his dissertation on his specialist subject of employment law, in particular the qualifying period for unfair dismissal, the introduction of tribunal fees and mandatory Acas conciliation, which he passed with flying colours.
Areas of expertise:
Chris advises commercial clients and individuals on all areas of employment law. Chris has detailed knowledge and understanding of all contentious areas of employment law including unfair dismissal, discrimination and contractual claims.
Additionally, Chris’s expertise extends to include non-contentious work, assisting employers with internal employment affairs, employment contracts and policies.
He is a great team player and provides assistance with the partners and solicitors within the department on employment matters. Clients like his friendly and approachable manner and the fact that he is always keen to help with any issues.
Membership of professional bodies and organisations:
Chris is a full member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Law Society.
A cricket fan and member of the Eastington PCC, Chris is also a skilled musician. At weekends he plays the organ and piano for local Church services, weddings and funerals, directs a local village choir, and has been bell ringing since he was 9 years old. Chris lives in Gloucestershire with his wife. They have a 3 legged cat called Leo and are hoping to get a new puppy soon too.
