our community

Many of our partners are involved in advising and assisting local charities. For example:

  • Richard Connolly is the honorary secretary of the Kidderminster Railway Museum.
  • Suzanne Lee is a Trustee of The League of Friends of the Kidderminster Hospitals who are provided with pro-bono legal advice on a number of different issues.

We arrange and support charitable and fund-raising events. Some of the events we have arranged are:

  • Two ‘Tickled Pink’ events in aid of local Breast Cancer units
  • Wills Day in Kidderminster – proceeds went to the Noah’s Ark Trust.
  • Long Mynd Charity Walk in aid of Hope House (childrens charity), Severn Hospice and the Air Ambulance.
  • Every year our staff also support Comic Relief, Children in Need and Jeans for Genes day, dressing-down at work.

Examples of pro bono work:

  • Tom Devey, from the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Division, is to give his time as legal adviser to the Fordhall Community Land Initiative at Market Drayton. He will help the board to launch a number of new attractions and educational facilities aimed at doubling the number of visitors from the current 6,000 a year. View Article
  • The lead-up to a Royal Ascot event in aid of the Wooden Spoon children’s charity is a recent example of our commitment to pro-bono work.  Due to a dispute regarding the interpretation of the law, the event was threatened. After many hours of pro-bono legal work, the Gambling Commission gave urgent advice which meant the event could go ahead. View Article
