Setting out on a legal footing

As couples embark on one of the most exciting adventures of their lives it is important that they lay the right foundations, experts at MFG Solicitors have warned.
Lawyers from the firm’s Worcestershire offices will be at the Wedding Fayre at Worcestershire Country Cricket Club this Sunday (August 15) to explain the legal implications of marriage.
Claire Backler, a partner in the firm’s family finance team, said: "While your local solicitor may not be at the top of your wedding guest list, we can offer valuable support in what will undoubtedly be a time of frenzied activity.
"In an age when family structures are often quite complex, we can advise on the terms on which a couple acquire property together, some form of prenuptial agreement to confirm what each party is bringing into the marriage, advice on step-children, the need to make a will or even something as simple as a change of surname before the banns are read."
