Areas of expertise:
Whilst been a specialist in debt recovery and small claims and defences, Rebecca has significantly built up and expanded her workload.
Rebecca has substantial experience (over 10 years) in managing a high volume of debt recovery matters and small claims matters. Such caseload included the preparation of letters before action, the issuing and defending of Court proceedings and the enforcement of County Court Judgments and Employment Tribunal Awards.
Rebecca also has significant experience in the use of the insolvency process, breach of contract and sale of goods claims and defences.
However, Rebecca has continued to expand her skill set and now deals with more complex and high value disputes and regulatory work. Rebecca has been regularly assisting Tom Esler with his varied caseload for some years now which includes assistance with the day to day conduct / progression of matters and interim work such as disclosure, drafting of proceedings, Instructions to Counsel and Expert and has significantly built her caseload in regulatory matters such as noise abatement notice appeals.
Rebecca is now the main point of contact for a number of high value and more complex matters such as partnership disputes, commercial and consumer contractual disputes, building disputes, contested rectification of title claims including Fast and Multi-Track actions.
Rebecca is also very commercially-minded and recognises the benefit to clients of agreeing a commercial settlement taking into account likely costs.
Rebecca provides ongoing assistance and supervision to more junior members of the team including paralegals and trainees.

“I had been a customer of a home burglar alarm system provider since 2007. When I upgraded the system in 2022, I became involved in a cost dispute, resulting from an onerous clause buried deep within their terms and conditions. I reached out to mfg solicitors to resolve the issue."
"We owe you a great debt of gratitude for being willing to come to our rescue at a very difficult time in our lives. You appeared to appraise every detail of the case so quickly, which was exceedingly refreshing. You not only suggested the best possible route to remedy, which was achievable, but also saved us the stressful tedium of a very long wait for the case to come to court. From the moment of the first meeting we were getting all the right vibes. Thank you so much for your concern and interest and, the impressive way in which you handled the case. It made a tremendous difference to our lives.”
"I must say your handling of the case was impeccable. I don't believe they would have increased the offer without your intervention. For that I am very grateful."
"Rebecca, Thank you again so much for all your help and guidance over the last little while. I don't know what I would have done without it. Service, thoroughness and communication from everyone I dealt with was first class. An outstanding solicitor's office."
"Rebecca has provided a professional service to our companies for many years and we have over that period provided her with many challenges to resolve on some very challenging sites. We have found Rebecca to consistently be both pragmatic and resourceful."
"I just wanted to put on the record all the help from Rebecca and Jessica McSorley, we got there in the end with a pretty good result, and I/we did not have to go to court, which is really not what I wanted to be put through."
