Ludlow lawyer joins charity Hands Together as a trustee

  • Posted

A respected Ludlow lawyer has joined the board of trustees at a local charity which supports vulnerable people.

Janna Vigar, from Corve Street-based mfg Solicitors, is now one of nine trustees at Ludlow charity, Hands Together.

The group raises funds to aid local people from less privileged backgrounds and those living with dementia. It also works with other groups and volunteers to co-ordinate support and make sure people in need and in isolation can live an easier life.

Janna, who is an Associate in the private client team at mfg Solicitors, said: “I have heard great things about what Hands Together has been doing since it was formed four years ago and I wanted to be able to offer my support.”

“Groups like this are all the more important as charities are facing financial pressures and they simply do not have the resources to be able to help everyone who needs them.”

“Hands Together co-ordinates volunteers and works to find the most appropriate organisation to help for a variety of reasons, ranging from ill health to loneliness, disability and old age. I am delighted to be involved.”

Hands Together trustee Mike Owens said: “We’re very pleased to have someone of Janna’s experience and expertise volunteer her time not only to help us, but to be one of our trustees. She joined us recently but in that time has already shown herself to be a dedicated member of the team.”

Fellow trustee David Harlington added: “The entire operation depends on people volunteering their time to help people in need of support. It is great to have Janna on the board.”
