Shropshire law firm mfg Solicitors has added to its agricultural division with the appointment of a respected land and farming expert.
Nick Playford has joined the firm, which has its main offices in Telford and Ludlow, as an associate working closely with Ludlow-based partner Susan Morrissy and head of department, partner Iain Morrison.
An agricultural specialist who has attained the Fellowship of The Agricultural Law Association, Mr Playford, 34, joins mfg from Warwickshire and Oxfordshire practice Brethertons and will play a key role in increasing mfg’s already strong presence in Shropshire and into Staffordshire where he is supporting new and existing clients.
Iain Morrison, partner and head of the agricultural and rural division, said: “Nick is a wonderful addition to our team in Shropshire. Nick has a land management degree and is well-regarded in the rural business and farming communities, he lives and breathes the industry after coming from a farming family. He has exactly the type of credentials we look for as we plan for the future and further growth.”
Nick Playford, added: “Joining mfg is a dream move for me. The firm’s presence in the rural sector across Shropshire is stronger than ever and it’s fantastic to have the opportunity to serve such a diverse number of clients, but also to play a role in developing what we can offer farmers, landowners, farm tenants and rural businesses.”
mfg Solicitors has an eight-strong agricultural and rural team spread across the region – including at their offices in Worcester and Kidderminster. It includes two partners, three associates and a support team of six.
