Law firm’s sponsorship secures acclaimed pianist for Bromsgrove concert

A donation from a Worcestershire law firm has secured a world-renowned pianist for an autumn music concert being held this month in Bromsgrove.

mfg Solicitors, which has offices in the town, has sponsored internationally admired soloist Di Xiao who will join regional professional orchestra, The Sinfonia Stellaris, to perform Beethoven’s piano concerto at Bromsgrove School’s Routh Hall on Saturday 15 October.

The concert, which is being organised by principle conductor Annette Jackson and members of the orchestra, will see a variety of talented local musicians taking part in the town’s historic venue.

Clare Lang, marketing partner from mfg Solicitors said: “We have been involved with many concerts in Bromsgrove over the years and we jumped at the chance to help secure Di Xiao for this year’s event. She performs across the world and is someone in constant demand. To see her coming to perform in Bromsgrove really is a special moment for everyone involved.”

Annette Jackson added: “Without mfg Solicitors’ valued support of Di Xiao, we could never have entertained the cost of bringing her to perform for the public in our region, and in a concert with a professional orchestra. I’d like to give a huge thank you to everyone at the firm for their kindness. It promises to be an evening which will live long in the memory of local music lovers.”

Di Xiao was once named among the ten most outstanding young Chinese pianists by the Pianist Magazine, Di has performed in over 20 countries and in many of the World's most prestigious venues. The piano has taken her from the post Cultural Revolution backstreets of southern China to the world stage.

Aged just 16, she won the ‘Most Outstanding Young Musician of Guangdong Province’ award and since then has won many national and international prizes. She has released six albums during her career.
